Malta – 13 August 2026 – finby, a European payment service provider and acquirer, announced the deployment of Wero, the pan-European digital payment solution , for its e-commerce merchants.
By integrating Wero into its payment offering, finby enables merchants to access a modern account-to-account payment solution designed specifically for the European market. Developed by the European Payments Initiative (EPI), Wero is backed by 18 leading European banks and payment providers, with over 50 financial institutions participating in the initiative. Wero already serves more than 57 million users across Belgium, France, and Germany and is has started to expand into e-commerce payments. Built on instant account-to-account transfers, the solution allows consumers to pay directly from their bank accounts in a seamless, secure, and efficient way, while helping simplify online transactions for both merchants and consumers.
The deployment marks another important milestone in finby’s commitment to delivering innovative and locally relevant payment methods that support merchants across Europe.

About Wero
Based on instant account-to-account (A2A) payments, Wero further streamlines payments in Europe by eliminating intermediaries in the payment chain and the associated additional costs. Wero already supports payments between individuals, and will shortly unveil payments to professionals (P2Pro). Wero has been live for P2P payments in Belgium, France, and Germany since 2024, currently serving 57 million users. For retail payments, Wero is live in Germany since the end of 2025 with progressive roll-out in France and Belgium throughout 2026.
